WRONGFUL DEATH SETTLEMENTS, THE NEW HEALTHCARE BUSINESS MODEL

By George Kayer

Citizens of America, on both sides of the prison gates are experiencing the often deadly results of for profit healthcare. United Health Care, Centurion, Wellpath, Wexford and Corizon all have the same business model: deny and delay treatment as long as possible, knowing the vast majority will not sue. James Hunter is alive and is suing.

James Hunter, an Arizona Prisoner has filed suit against Centurion, Arizona Department of Corrections, et. al.

In his complaint, Mr. Hunter alleges permanent damages to his body and denial of treatment. On July 15, 2022 Mr. Hunter underwent surgery for his hydrocele in his right testicle. Immediately after surgery, he realized dramatic swelling and serious pain.
During a post-op follow up a few days later, he was advised that the pain and swelling was normal. However, when he was finally seen by the Centurion medical provider, the brown colored drainage from the site was recognized as infected, but no cultures were taken to see what exactly the infection was.
Mr. Hunter continued to seek medical attention, but his pleas were flatly denied. Then on July 26, 2022, eleven days after the surgery, Mr. Hunter had the operated area explode at the stitches, leaving a trail of blood as he struggled to get medical attention.

It was later discovered that the doctor, Panjak Jain, who had provided the original surgery had actually failed to cauterize a small blood vessel that he had ruptured during surgery. Thereby causing blood to coagulate and solidify in the scrotum sac.

Mr. Hunter was finally sent to the hospital where he was immediately re-operated on and flooded with antibiotics. Several post surgery operations have been performed due to issues arising from the first surgery and the delay of care from Centurion Medical, Mr. Hunter now suffers life long medical issues and pain.
